NEW ALBUM! Out February 8

We have since our last album ”Mindstunt” (2020) we’ve been working on what feels like some of our best work. The new album is called ”Trasslad Röd Tråd” (Tangled Red String) and is about trying to untangle the confusing mess that is life. Since our last album I (songwriter for Mindstunt) became a father to two boys. The music has come from a place of hopefulness, love and frustration. I didn’t want to write something of less quality than before so I took a lot of time to write and rewrite the songs. They are coloured with in splashes of jazz, classical and as always mostly some kind of pop/rock. I recorded it mainly with IA in his studio, one could argue he had more to do with this record than me (who wrote the song, produced, sang and played guitar). IA engineered, played all the solos, drums, bass, mixed and mastered. Robin as always did the stringarrengements and piano but had a smaller part in this album than the previous ones, he’s on roughly half of the songs.

We began in 2021 and did 3-4 tracks a year, building them slowly one instrument at a time in-between IAs hectic schedule. We also had Roger Sundström make some effects and Filippa Sommarblad do backing vocals on the opening track. As always IA did a fantastic job with the solos and for the first time I decided he do all solos, previously he and I did half each but, I realised I’ll never be as good so why bother. I also decided to write all songs in Swedish this time, it was a tribute to nordic bands like Kaizers Orchestra and Kent and just like our last album was a tribute to double albums I love (Smashing Pumpkins ”Mellon Collie”, Beatles ”White album”) this was a tribute to nordic rock music. I also did it because I think I sing better in Swedish, it’s clearer and with better pronunciation.

Once the album was finished I stumbled across an artist i really liked. I was out walking down random streets with my baby Sam and he pointed at some art trough a window so we went in and one thing led to another after I started talking to the artist and we decided he should make the art for the album. It turned out fantastic if I may say so myself and came about the way I like things to go.

We made three music videos for the album and those will be put one at a time. They were all recorded at Musik Utan Gränser in Gothenburg by IA with Henrik Lisander, Hennes Borgström and Nils Hoff as band. Nils jumped in with one days notice so we were happy it became as good as did. They are filmed in a ”live band” kind of way.

Hopefully the album is well received and people like it as much as I do.
